OUR STORY

W H Allan was built around farming North Country Mule ewe lambs and Aberdeen Angus suckler cows. Now, nearly 10 years later, we have grown and diversified with a herd of over 160 cows, 350+ North Country Mule ewe lambs, store lambs bought and sold throughout the season and 1000 KellyBronze turkeys for Christmas; all running alongside 450 acres of arable including wheat, barley and grass rotation.

We also run a large square baler alongside our other enterprises to compliment our needs for straw and silage as well as a large number of local contracting.

We have a farm shop at Hornton Grounds where we stock all our very own grass fed beef, pork, lamb and seasonal turkeys.

In addition to the Farm Shop we offer outside catering from small to large gatherings and at the centre of this is our hog roasting ovens.

Will and Brittany

Will and Brittany share the same dreams and passions; to be able to deliver the best quality products and create a fantastic farming environment, not just for their animals but also for their customers.

Will has been farming all his life.  As a very young boy he started his own poultry enterprise; hatching, rearing and selling eggs, chickens and ducks. At the ripe old age of 13 years, he went into partnership with his three younger sisters lambing North Country Mule ewelambs and selling the boxed lamb direct to customers. After completing a Diploma in Agriculture at Hartpury College, Will started his own sheep farming business and then moved to Hornton Grounds Farm where he has expanded the business to where it is today.

Brittany started off her younger years on her family farm, helping her Grandpa with their herd of dairy cattle and sheep.  Since leaving school, Brittany has been very much in the retail sales environment with experience across many sectors ranging from fashion, cosmetics and latterly in the premium end of the motor industry.

Through their joint love for the farming life they have now expanded the Farm shop at Hornton Grounds to include quality provisions which complement the locally produced meat.
